Paul Cameron
A/Prof Paul Cameron trained as a clinical immunologist and immunopathologist in Perth where he developed a long standing research interest in host interactions with pathogens in particular HIV. His research in cellular immunology has focussed on the role of DC and T cell in HIV pathogenesis, latency and disease persistence. He initially described the role of DC in transmission of HIV to T cells during activation while a post-doc with Ralph Steinman at Rockefeller University and continued this work at the Burnet Institute and University of Melbourne. He Currently works with Sharon Lewin in the Department of Infectious Diseases at Monash University and has a clinical appointments in Infectious Diseases and pathology at the Alfred Hospital.
